Pygmy pythons and more corns

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Our trip to Holland last month saw five new additions to the household. A long trip, but definitely worth it.

We are delighted to finally have our anthill pythons (aka pygmy pythons). This Australian species is the world’s smallest python, maxing out at around two foot long, with beautiful earth red colouring and dark markings. They’re incredibly intelligent little animals and the two-year-old trio have settled in nicely to our household.

The other two additions were, of course, more cornsnakes, this time a young adult pair of caramel bloodreds. The female especially is an excellent example of the morph, and I’m sure they’ll both be very useful parts of our breedings this coming year, once quarantine is over.
